The PC release of Returnal, a PS5 exclusive, appears to have been virtually confirmed by an update to Steam’s database. PlayStation has consistently demonstrated its dedication to bringing some of its most well-known exclusive titles to PC. The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection was just released on Steam and Epic, allowing PC fans to go through the last chapters of Nathan Drake’s adventure. While the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection did not have the same number of players as God of War or Marvel’s Spider-Man on PC, Sony appears to be dedicated to publishing unique titles on the platform.
Naturally, this raises the question of which game will be released on PC next, and most conjecture focused on the PS5-exclusive roguelike Returnal coming to the system. The first indication that Returnal was coming to PC came from a Steam listing for a title codenamed “Oregon,” which was thought to be tied to the game owing to several translation strings mentioning in-game locales. Then, in September, the visual menus for Returnal for PC surfaced, revealing a plethora of settings for players to choose from.
Returnal has now been added to the database as a result of a fresh update to the entry for “Oregon.” While this modification was withdrawn a few hours later, several screenshots of the listing were obtained, indicating that the game will be released on PC. Fans shouldn’t get too happy just yet because it hasn’t been officially announced that Returnal will be accessible on PC, but it does appear from this evidence and prior leaks that it might be on the way.
Returnal has garnered a lot of acclaim since its first release, so Sony would be wise to capitalize on the game’s popularity by releasing a PC version. Returnal garnered several honors this year, including the BAFTA for best game.
Returnal is now available on the PlayStation 5.
