Before the game’s release, Scarlet and Violet’s whole Pokedex leaked online, and fans are eager to see the starters’ evolutions to choose their own.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s release date is rapidly approaching, and while The Pokemon Company just released one last video with fans, it was swiftly followed by a large leak of information covering the whole Gen 9 games. Leaks revealed every creature in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Pokedex, from the starters to the Legendaries, to all of the Gym Leaders and Team Star Leaders. Fans were thrilled to see Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paradox Salamence and Paradox Tyranitar in particular, going by the names Roaring Moon and Iron Thorns. This also includes the various Paradox Pokemon that the last Gen 9 trailer had finally showcased through Great Tusk and Iron Treads.
But among the very first to appear online were the middle-stage evolutions of Fuecoco and Smoliv, which made their debut alongside Paldean Tauros when someone who received an early copy of the game posted images on Twitter. This was only the beginning, as more information surfaced once players had access to a Pokemon Scarlet ROM that contained the entire game. From this ROM, abilities, moves, and returning Pokemon were all datamined. This quickly brought Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s starters to public attention, and fans were quick to critique their artwork.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Fuecoco Evolutions: Leaks
The earliest beginning evolutions to appear online were those of Fuecoco, whose ultimate stage was known as Skeledirge and whose middle stage was known as Color. With the exception of being bigger, Crocalor looks relatively similar to its basic form. However, what really alters Crocalor’s appearance is the fact that the fiery crocodile’s hair transforms into a flaming egg encircled by circular flames, nearly like a sombrero. However, Skeledirge from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a completely different creature; it now takes the form of a sizable four-legged crocodile with flames on either side of its mouth, a flaming bird perched on its snout, and a rather overtly Ghost-type motif to go with its newly discovered secondary type.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Sprigatito Evolution Leaks
A fresh batch of leaks containing items like the development of the Paldean Wooper and a new line of grasshoppers from Bug/Dark started to surface online shortly after. Following Sprigatito came Floragato, a middle-stage evolution that gains a yo-yo-like weapon and transforms into a bipedal Pokemon, with an aesthetic that leans more toward the thief and rogue cliché. Meowscarada, the last evolution of Sprigatito, is a Grass/Dark type Pokemon that is more akin to stage performers than bandits. Its Pokedex entry refers to it as a “Magician Pokemon,” and its outward appearance emphasises this by giving it a leafy cape and a juggler’s tool.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Quaxly Evolutions Leaks
Quaxly was the last beginning evolution line for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to debut online. It does maintain its duck-like look throughout the stages, despite the fact that the final stage also heavily borrows from carnival themes and influences. Quaxwell, the midway stage of Quaxly’s growth, is larger than its basic form and has a more dancer-like appearance, which its ultimate state picks up and intensifies. In fact, Quaxly’s last evolution, which gets strong dance-related Water-type moves, is dubbed Quaquaval in honor of the carnival.
Final Words
in the end, the beginning Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet each have distinct themes that shine to some extent, which gives them all distinct personalities. All of the starters receive a signature move for their major types, which are Fire, Grass, and Water, respectively, despite the fact that Skeledirge’s secondary type is Ghost, Meowscarada’s is Dark, and Quaquaval’s is Fighting. Nevertheless, each of them possesses the stereotypical traits of their secondary kind, and it’s possible that they might each have Hidden Abilities based on those traits.
