Despite reports that the Halo Infinite co-op campaign will begin on July 11, 343 Industries has informed fans that this is not the case.
When Halo Infinite was originally released in late 2021, fans of the sci-fi genre noticed that several typical game aspects were missing. Playable Elites, multiplayer assassinations, and other features that have been in previous Halo games were conspicuously absent from Halo Infinite. However, developer 343 Industries has been continuously giving new updates to better the experience for gamers, as well as pledging that most of the functionality identified to be missing at launch will be coming in the future.
The lack of a co-op campaign in Halo Infinite was one of the most noticeable missing aspects for fans. Playing the main plot of a Halo game with a companion has been a part of the genre for well over a decade, and with the advent of the Arbiter as a side character in Halo 3, it appeared the game practically expected the player to have an accompanying friend in their game. Fans of Halo were relieved to see that Halo Infinite will have a co-op campaign experience, with a beta or “test flight” release date planned for July 2022.
