Fans have discovered some hints as to what the next game may be after FromSoftware recently announced it is in the final stages of production.
Elden Ring by developer FromSoftware has undoubtedly taken the gaming world by storm; many of its admirers already deem it to be the best game of the year. God of War Ragnarok, which debuts in November, is for many the only serious rival it has. Recent developments also appear to indicate that FromSoftware isn’t slowing down.
It was verified that another FromSoftware game was in the final stages of production along with a notice that the company was hiring. The final phases might still take years to complete, so this is not guaranteed that it will be released this year or even the following. Nevertheless, many fans remain optimistic. After all, the releases of Sekiro, Bloodborne, and the Dark Souls series were all rather close together. Recent hints, however, could imply that the aforementioned FromSoftware game is Armored Core 6 rather than a Soulsborne adventure.
For those who are not acquainted, the Armored Core series of games by FromSoftware are third-person shooter mecha games. Players assume the role of mercenary pilots who drive massive mechs known as Armored Cores for business, personal, and governmental customers in exchange for money, glory, and other rewards. It should be noted that the mainline’s most recent game, Armored Core 5, was released ten years ago. This is perhaps because the mecha genre is very specialized. However, if any firm has mastered the art of making a niche very popular, it is FromSoftware, whose initially obscure Dark Souls series has over time generated a tonne of Soulslikes.
