After ten long years of hearing requests for a Dragon’s Dogma sequel, Capcom is finally making it happen. Hideaki Itsuno, series director, revealed the new game as a surprise at the end of a 10-year anniversary mini-doc (opens in a new tab) for the first Dragon’s Dogma check out the announcement below.
“I apologize for keeping you waiting!” Itsuno stated as he unzipped his sweater to expose a Dragon’s Dogma 2 insignia. “Everyone on the development team is working tirelessly to create a game that we hope you will love. Please keep an eye out for it!”
After a short sizzle reel from the original game, Itsuno dropped the metaphorical microphone, and the webcast stopped. In a subsequent tweet, Capcom revealed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is being developed on RE Technology, the same engine that was utilized for the previous several Resident Evil games and Monster Hunter Rise.
