It’s sometimes more enjoyable to play with others. There are numerous wonderful PC games that put you in the shoes of a lone hero, but massively multiplayer online games, or MMOs, are some of the biggest and finest. These are massive games that are constantly updated with fresh material and let you to play with hundreds, thousands, or millions of other people.
Black Desert Online
Black Desert Online is unconcerned with throwing newcomers into its intricate depths. Its magnificent fantasy setting is packed with systems such as battle, trade, and diplomacy. BDO allows you to do more than just go on adventures; you can collect resources, fashion them into other products, and have them transported about by automated employees. BDO is the sort of MMO where you’re just as likely to be a blacksmith as a wizard.
Destiny 2
You and your team take on the role of Guardians, immortal warriors that wander the solar system slaying cosmic dangers. Since its initial release in 2017, this sci-fi shooter has seen several modifications, including the transition to a free-to-play model, the addition of the Destiny Content Vault (Opens in a new window), and an increase in the number of planets. Destiny 2 is one of the most action-heavy MMOs available on PC, so if you enjoy Call of Duty, it may be just up your alley.
The Elder Scrolls Online
Zenimax Online has released the only MMO set in the best-selling Elder Scrolls franchise. Set a thousand years before the events of Skyrim, ESO allows players to explore breathtaking locales from the series’ past and participate in epic events. Morrowind’s wetlands and exotic surroundings, Summerset’s sun-drenched isle, and Skkyrim’s snow-covered peaks may all be explored. Elder Scrolls Online is one of the better MMOs in terms of plot, with well-written characters and excellent voice acting.
Final Fantasy XIV Online
Final Fantasy XIV is the MMO that has defied the odds and challenged the supremacy of World of Warcraft. Following a rocky start, FFXIV was given a second chance in 2012 with the release of A Realm Reborn. With a wonderful tale, amazing visuals, and all the aesthetic flourishes of the long-running Final Fantasy brand, the MMO is now going from strength to strength.
Star Wars: The Old Republic
You might have forgotten that BioWare has an active MMO. The free-to-play Star Wars: The Old Republic is the spiritual sequel to BioWare’s iconic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. While aficionados of that RPG may object to participation in MMO features like groups, dungeons, and raids, The Old Republic has wonderful narrative. Each of the game’s eight classes has its own story and companions, and the game’s shortened leveling grind allows you to play it like a singleplayer RPG.
