According to CD Projekt’s CEO, Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a Game of the Year Edition sometime in 2023. While game-breaking bugs plagued Cyberpunk 2077’s original release in 2020, the company has been trying to address such problems. The gameplay of the game and the public’s perception of it have both significantly improved as a result of patches and updates that have been made available.
According to Insider Gaming, Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt, indicated that fans may anticipate a Game of the Year Version following the single scheduled expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, which this new edition would probably feature. Although there is no set launch date, Kicinski stated that it will happen sometime in 2023. It is currently unknown whether the Game of the Year edition will be available on PS4 and Xbox One or if it will only be available on those systems. It appears likely that the Game of the Year Edition will not be made for consoles from earlier generations given that the Phantom Liberty DLC is not.
The Game of the Year version of Cyberpunk 2077 Potential
This information follows the declaration of a sequel, on which CD Projekt will concentrate after finishing the present game. Project Orion is the working name for the Cyberpunk 2077 prequel; other than that, nothing more is known about it. Given that the sequel will make use of the entire Cyberpunk setting, it is to be hoped that designers are working to make Night City even more immersive and vibrant.
For fans who have been hesitant to purchase the game themselves, the Game of the Year Edition is an appealing idea. Despite its poor introduction, the title has recently experienced a boom in popularity, demonstrating that it has always had promise. The CD Projekt team should have learned from the initial release and will now make sure the new DLC and GOTY Edition are prepared for the general public when they are released.
